the rise

Options
Capo:
Display:
C
All the riders on the rise
Fmaj7
Circlers from every side
All the riders on the rise
Circlers from every side
Am
Eyes up!

Light floods
G
around
in a yellow shadow after night
Comes down
in a grand fall (?)
in a dull dumb swipe.
And all’s white.
C
Fire painting on the pines
Fmaj7
And hawks above the timber-line
Water weeping from the ice
Water weeping from the ice
Am
Heat is lost

Winter rocks into a lonely
G
boxwood grove
And quiet snowfall
Smothers all of the lawns
Where the ladies coughed and cried,
Fmaj7
“I don’t want to be there
G
when it’s time!”
C
The dying stag is on his side
Fmaj7
The dying stag is on his side
The wind is beating through the briers
The wind is beating through the briers
The dying stag is on his side
The dying stag is on his side
The wind is beating through the briers
The wind is beating through the briers
Am
Waves on the graves of the saints

Dull
G
grey as the sea pushes land away
Dull ache when you wake
Grey smoke shows the way you walk
down by when it’s time
Fmaj7
I don’t want to be there
G
when it’s time

To go
Em
down, down
F
I don’t want to go down there alone
Down down
I don’t want to go down there alone
Em F
Down down down down
Down down down down
Down down
Down down
Down down
Down down
Ooh

I'm 95% sure this is how they played it in Columbus, OH though I may be wrong on a couple of the chords, namely the F in the “down, down, down” part. You can pretty much see him making the other chords in this video, though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_ii6itRW3c
